We started the weekend off with no plans other than soccer practice and celebrating Matt's birthday on Saturday. But it ended up being such a fun weekend - just perfect!
Saturday we woke up and had a slow morning then headed off to soccer practice. Lance was excited that Matt was going to be there. Their team had a scrimmage and did really good. They won 6-2 - but we didn't keep score ;)
Honestly, I didn't get a chance to watch too much of the scrimmage,
Grayson was in rare form at the soccer field!
Grayson and Sawyer love to watch Thomas the Train on my phone - they are such good little buddy's!
After naps and some relaxation time, we headed to Fayetteville to celebrate Matt's birthday eating dinner at Shogun's. The boys had never been there and they loved it and had such a fun time watching the chef cook our food on the grill and trying to master using chop sticks. It was a fun evening!
They came out and sang Happy Birthday to Matt and brought him a "special" dessert. Here he is loving being sang to at the restaurant. Yes, they made him stand up while they sang to him and he LOVED it, ha ha!!
After we got home, we wrapped up the festivities with some birthday cake. Here is Matt with the boys - it is impossible to get everyone to look at the camara at the same time - errr!
Matt was itching to get to the river and do some fishing on the long weekend. Sunday he made and impromptu fishing trip - so the boys and I decided we did not want to spend the day at home doing nothing so, we loaded up and headed to Mimi and Papa's. Mimi and Papa have been missing the boys since they don't get to see them on Tuesday nights anymore since school started so they welcomed the visit.
The afternoon was perfect - the boys played in the dirt and got filthy and just loved it! Mom, Dad and I sat outside and worked on a Halloween wreath for her and we just enjoyed each others company. The boys did not fight or tattle 500 times - they just dug in the dirt and road their bikes - it was great!
Then Monday rolled around. We didn't have anything going and my friend Allison called and wanted to get together to make a Hogs football wreath and grill out. So, she headed down and off we went to the craft stores to get our supplies for our wreaths.
I must give Allison all the credit - she is just so creative and good at putting stuff like this together. While she was working on the wreaths, I made dinner. Good trade off, right :)
Here is the final project! I think it turned out super cute - perfect for Hogs football season! (I did position the football on the wreath - I have to get a little credit, LOL!)
It turned out to be a great weekend of unplanned events!
Hope everyone has a great week!
