Last Day of School

We are so excited to be on Summer break! For us, the last few weeks of school just dragged by. We are ready to get this summer started!

I did a comparism of the boys on their first day of school and last day of school to see how much they had grown/changed in just the nine months of school. I couldnt believe the change, especially in Lance. He has gotten so tall!    It's hard to believe that he is going to be a second grader this fall - seems like he just started Kindergarten.

Joplin Memorial Run

The second race of the year was the Joplin Memorial Run.  Being from SW Missouri, this run is near and dear to our hearts.  It is a memorial run for the Joplin tornado that took the life of 161 people on May 22, 2011.  It is a great run that is put on very well and the proceeds of the race go to the rebuild Joplin fund, such a great cause.  Matt did the half marathon, Lance and I did the 5K and Grayson along with Grandpa did the fun run.  Nana and Mimi were there for support and to help snap some pictures.

We all finished our races and had a great time!  Lance finished with a time of 34:55, Sarah finished with a time of 39:24 and Matt came in with a time of 1 hour 52 mins.

Fun and Field Day

Lance's school hosted a fun field day.  Grayson and I went and it was SO much fun!  The school did a great job putting on this event.  It was such a fun way to let the kiddos just have a fun day as they wind down the school year.  The weather could not have been more perfect, it was just a great day!

Grayson jumped right in with Lance's class activities as if he was one of them! He had a blast! Lance was such a good big brother and made sure he got in line in front of him and made sure that Grayson understood the instructions and what they were doing.  It was soo sweet - melted my heart.  Lance has such a sweet heart - love him!  I cannot believe that this school year is all but over and he is going to be in second grade - does not seem possible, seems like he just started kindergarten. But so thankful I get to be there for these events!
