Gettin My Craft On!

This weekend I decided to make a Halloween Wreath! Yes, I know that it is still August and yes, I did go ahead and make a Halloween wreath :)

I ran across this cute wreath on a blog this week and just had to have it! If you know me, once I see something I want to do or make, I cannot wait. So, off to Hobby Lobby I went and purchased the supplies that I needed to make my wreath. It was super simple to make and I think it turned out pretty good.

Now, all I need is October to get here so that I can display it :)

Busy Week and Fun Weekend!

I am happy to report that the second week of school went well. Lance had a really good week and seems to be doing well in school so far. He has had "green" days everyday - which is a good thing. Everyday he jumps in the car and tells me, "today was green!"

He had been wanting to ride the bus home since school started - so, I finally gave in and let him try it last week. It's not that I don't like the convenience of him riding the bus, I just love to go and get him from school and hear all about his day when he gets in the car. It is one of the high lights of my day. He ended up loving it, so we compromised and he is going to ride the bus two days a week.

On Friday, Lance's school had their first Colt's Stampede. I had no idea what it was and since parents were invited to come, Grayson and I decided to go and see what this Stampede was all about.

It was an awards assembly that the school holds at the end of each month. They give out class awards to the class that does the best at PE, Art, Music, Library, Computers and the class that is the best in the cafeteria during lunch. Lance's class received two awards: the silver spoon award for being the best class in the cafeteria during lunch and the art award for being good in art. It was a nice assembly and encourages the students to do their best. So far, I love his school!

Friday night our friends the Greenfield's invited us to go eat dinner with them and then go to the soccer kick off. The boys were so excited to go spend and evening with their buddy's Carter Wayne and Sawyer. Lance and Carter Wayned are on the same soccer team this year and we ALL are excited!

The soccer kick off had several bounce houses for the kids - Grayson wasn't too sure of them for a while, but once he decided he would give them a try, we could not get him off of them! All the boys had a great time and it wore them out :)

Lance and Carter Wayne - they have been buddy's since they were 2

Saturday we took the boys bowling to celebrate Lance being selected as an ambassador for his class. His teacher sent a letter home on Friday telling us that he had been picked to be the boy ambassador for his classroom. An ambassador is someone who will help welcome new students, help plan special events, etc. Each class chooses 1 boy and 1 girl to represent their classroom. We were so proud that Lance was selected to be the boy ambassador for his classroom, we had to celebrate! We asked Lance if there was something fun he wanted to do to celebrate and he picked bowling - so bowling it was!

Hope you all have a great week! It is going to be a busy one for us with soccer and football kicking off! Oh, and someones birthday is this week :)

Weekend Recap

We survived our first week of Kindergarten! Lance had a great week and just loves his teacher. He is getting adjusted to his new schedule but I will be honest, we all were pooped after the week! We were not used to getting up as early as we have to now, so we had a pretty low key weekend.

After school on Friday, I took Lance to meet Matt at football practice. Lance had been wanting to go to football practice for a while and we thought that would be a nice way to end the first week of Kindergarten for the little guy. After practice, Springdale had their Football Jamboree so Matt and Lance went to that. While they were doing all of that, Grayson (who was not happy about not getting to go to furr ball - Grayson lingo - practice) and I headed to Wal-Mart and home to get dinner going. We actually got to eat dinner as a family for the first time all week!

Saturday was a pretty quiet day - we had a slow morning watching cartoons and sipping on coffee. We all just pretty much did what we wanted to and it was great. After lunch we decided to take much needed naps!

That evening I headed off to see the movie "The Help" and to have some dinner with some girlfriends. It was great to have some girl time after having such a busy week!

The movie was great and so was the company! Some of us had read the book and some had not - either way we all enjoyed the movie. I would definately recommend the book and movie!

While I was out at Girls Night, Matt took the boys to Steak n Shake and to Academy - they decided to have a Boys Night! The boys loved having an evening with their daddy!

Sunday we headed to Neosho to celebrate Matt and his brother Cory's birthday - my mother in law prepared their favorite meal for them, fried chicken and all the fixin's. It was wonderful as usual! The boys enjoyed hanging out with their cousins and swimming at Nana and Grandpa's. After visiting Nana and Grandpa, we headed over to my parents to visit for a while. My brother came over and we all just hung out and let the boys play and chatted. It was a nice little visit. I think Lance is already counting the days down until he gets to go back to Neosho!

It was a great weekend - now off to another busy week!

Lunch at School with Lance

I was really trying to make it though the first week of school without going to lunch with Lance. I really wanted him to get used to the routine at school and used to doing things on his own. I was going to wait until the second week - ha! But when he asked me to come eat with him, I couldn't resisit! So Grayson and I packed a lunch for Grayson to take and headed to lunch with Lance. (I didn't eat, they eat 10:30 - I had just got my coffee down, wasn't quite ready for lunch).

Grayson thought he was so big taking his lunch to Lance's school! He wanted to carry it all by himself and could not get in the school fast enough! We packed the same thing for Grayson as we did for Lance - it was so cute watching them eat their lunches, Grayson wanted to eat the same thing Lance was eating at the same time.

Our big Lancer! He was so excited to have us there for lunch. It was great to see him during the day and to see what his day was like.

First Day of Kindergarten

This past week has been a week full of changes and adjusting to a new routine! Lance started Kindergarten this week and it has been an adjustment for all of us.

Here is our big Kindergartener! He has done so good this week! It has been an exhausting week for all of us from getting up so early and just trying to get adjusted to our new routine. But he has been a trooper!

Grayson wasn't sure what all was going on,

he just wanted to get in on some of the picture taking :)
Me and my big boy! Cannot believe he is in K!

Daddy and Lancer starting a new school year!

He wanted a picture of the back of his backpack -

it has his intials monogrammed on the back (thanks Nana!)

Walking into his class room.

He has the sweetest teacher - we have been blessed to have her

to help us through this transition. She is wonderful!

Can you tell he was tired of me taking pictures?

(I held it together really good until we got to the car.)

They were so happy to see each other after we picked Lance up!

Grayson probably asked me a 100 times, "Where is Lancer?"

It was a long day for both of us!

Last Weekend of Summer

Last weekend was our last weekend before school started. We tried to cram as much fun into one weekend as possible before school started.

On Friday - the boys and I had a very impromtu trip to the Wilderness Drive Thru Safari in Gentry. We had such a fun day! It was just the three of us and the weather was perfect - overcast with cooler temps. We loaded up and headed to Gentry - the boys LOVED driving through the safari and looking at all the exotic animals. They had some really cool animals there! After we completed the drive thru portion, we went through the petting zoo before the rains came. Of course, my boys favorite animal was the huge, black pot-belly pig! We had to kind of rush through the petting zoo part because we could hear thunder coming closer and knew we were going to get soaked if we didn't hurry up!

After we left the safari, it was lunch time! The boys picked out McDonald's for lunch - we stopped and they both were starving and ate their lunch so well. After we left McDonalds we had to stop at the Little Debbie store, a trip to Gentry would not be complete without at a stop at the Little Debbie Store! Lance picked out some treats that he wanted for lunches and after school snacks and of course, we had to pick out a treat for the ride home!

We had such a fun day and it was the perfect way to end the summer!

On Saturday, we decided to take the boys to Fast Lanes for a fun Saturday afternoon. We bowled and had a blast! (And Momma was the winner of bowling!) After finishing up bowling we took the boys to the arcade portion and let them play a few games. They had a blast and thought it was the greatest place - they didn't even find the go carts or the laser tag, we will save that for another day!
